UC Irvine Athletics Completes Comprehensive Men’s Basketball Fan Survey
June 10, 2016
IRVINE, Calif. — In April, UC Irvine Athletics conducted a comprehensive fan survey to solicit feedback related to the men’s basketball fan experience. The survey was conducted by The Aspire Group, a leader in sports strategic consulting and research. More than 750 fans provided feedback, spending an average of 20 minutes completing a combination of free response and multiple select questions.
This marks the first time the department has solicited this kind of comprehensive feedback. We are pleased to learn that our overall game day experience satisfaction rating was 90 percent and 72 percent of fans reported that they received more value from their experience when compared to the price they paid for admission.
We know there are a variety of items that need to be addressed, and this survey helped validate many of them. It also brought additional items to our attention. In the coming months, UC Irvine Athletics is committed to working with key vendors, campus partners and staff to address these areas.
We are grateful to our fans that took the time to complete the fan experience survey. Your feedback and input is vital to improving our program. As the 2016-17 basketball season approaches, we plan to send follow-up communication on specific improvements to our fans.
